Elevation - The Australian Ballet in 2009

Welcome to an exciting new season of dance. 2009 will showcase the long-awaited return of many dance favorites to the Sydney Opera House, including the timeless tales of Nutcracker - The Story of Clara and The Sleeping Beauty, along with highly anticipated new works by some of the worlds' most talented choreographers. Alexei Ratmansky, Wayne McGregor and Nacho Duato deliver a sophisticated dance experience in the electrifying triple bill of Concord, while Australia's Graeme Murphy premieres a brand-new Firebird to feature alongside Mikhail Fokine's best known works, Petrouchka and Les Sylphides, in a spellbinding Firebird and other legends.

2009 also sees The Australian Ballet's sixth annual choreographic discovery programme at Sydney Theatre. Bodytorque 2.2 features five new works from the dance stars of today and the choreographic stars of the future.
